Your Participation is Welcome
The objectives of the Masonic Fellowship Discussion Group are in accord with those of most concerned Masons in Illinois -- with particular focus on the needs of our brethren in the metropolitan Chicago area. Our goals, simply stated, are to improve communications among all members of the fraternity and to address the common problems and challenges facing our Masonic lodges today. We can be successful only with the participation of members of the Masonic fraternity in the area. Any Mason -- Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft or Master Mason -- is invited to join in our meetings and activities. Our meetings are held on the second Saturday every other month, beginning in January at various Masonic Temples throughout the Chicago area. Breakfast is served at 7:30 am, followed by a short business meeting and a group discussion about topics of interest to all Masons. Topics are usually determined in advance, but any attendee is encouraged to bring up any subject of interest to the group. Generally, the meetings are adjourned no later than 10:30 am. The Illinois Masonic Secretaries Association conducts regular meetings immediately following our meetings. (You do not have to be a lodge secretary to attend meetings of the Secretaries Association; all Masons are welcome to attend.)
The Masonic Fellowship Discussion Group is completely self-supporting with its operating funds generated by a nominal $3.50 donation for breakfast from each attendee plus donations from individual lodges. Our meetings are hosted by lodges that arrange for use of the temples and provide the breakfast. Sponsoring lodges for the year are determined at the annual meeting of the group in January.
