OLD GLORY LODGE
NO 141, A.F.& A.M.
Westchester, Illinois
Constituted November 23, 1853
Chartered October 2, 1854
| On September 7, 1999, Old Glory Lodge No. 540 voted to consolidate with
Covenant-Myrtle Lodge No. 141. On October 6, 1999, the assembled brethren of the lodge
voted unanimously to change the name of our lodge to Old Glory Lodge No. 141. This action
was confirmed and approved at the subsequent 160th Annual Communications of the Grand
Lodge of Illinois a few days later. As one of the older lodges in the
Chicago area we have members who live in all parts of the Chicago metropolitan area,
25 other states. Regardless of where our members live, or how often they are able to
attend our meetings, we attempt to maintain close contact with them with frequent mailings
and communications. We hope that this Internet Web Site will serve as another means to
stay in touch. We strongly believe that one of the real strengths of Freemasonry is in
the interaction among brethren of all lodges. Our members frequently visit and participate
in the activities of other lodges in the area -- and we warmly invite and welcome all
members of other lodges to visit us at our Stated and Special meetings. Members of
Covenant-Myrtle Lodge 141 founded the Masonic Fellowship
Discussion Group in 1995 to promote better communication and interaction among lodges
in our area. Since that time the Discussion Group has evolved into a
self-sustaining organization of about 20 Masonic Lodges that meets regularly for Saturday
Morning Breakfast Meetings to discuss topics of mutual interest to Masons and Masonic
lodges. To Our Non-Masonic FriendsWe welcome inquiries about the Masonic Fraternity, and out lodge in particular. We will be happy to answer any questions you have about our activities and membership. If you have any questions, please contact our Secretary via email and he will welcome to put you in touch with one of our members. |
Masonic Fellowship
Discussion GroupThis organization actively encourages communication and interaction among lodges in the Chicago and suburban area. The group conducts regular Saturday morning breakfast meetings which are devoted to discussion topics of mutual interest -- no holds barred. In addition as a result of its discussions, the group has expanded its activities to participation in several parades in local communities and a call list of members who will participate in Masonic funeral services. It strongly supports all activities of the Grand Lodge of Illinois including food drives, the Drug & Alcohol Abuse Prevention Among Children Program and the Pennies for Children Programs. Any Master Mason is welcome to attend the meetings and participate in the Discussion Group's Activities. For information, please contact via email.
